Support for self-help projects in Brazil

The Eckes Family Foundations have been active in Brazil since the early 1970s. The “Ludwig-Eckes School” was established to provide education for the children of farm labourers within the context of the company’s agricultural and industrial activities relating the processing of citrus and tropical fruit in the region surrounding the Bahia Frutos plantation in north-eastern Brazil. The Eckes family regards

its support as an expression of the company’s long-standing ties with the region and its people.
In addition to the “Ludwig-Eckes School”, a total of 50 projects are currently in progress, including orphanages and refuges for street children, kindergartens, vocational training facilities and workshops. The goal is to help people help themselves.
