Eckes purchases the granini company from the Melitta Group and integrates it into its own fruit beverage operations. Eckes holds 74% interest in the newly founded Eckes-Granini GmbH & Co., while Melitta retains a 26% share. The merger gives Eckes its first internationally established fruit beverage brand.
Eckes acquires 50% interest in the Austrian fruit beverage producer Ybbstaler and the YO brand.
