As the company continues to pursue the expansion of its fruit beverage business in Europe, the new Eckes-Granini Suisse S. A. is established as a joint venture with the mineral water producer Henniez (as of 2007 Nestle Waters Switzerland).
The Bröl production plant in Germany is the first facility in the fruit juice industry to be certified in accordance with the European Eco Management and Audit Scheme.
Eckes receives an “Award for Environmental Awareness in Corporate Management” from the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Selbstständiger Unternehmer (Consortium of Independent Entrepreneurs, ASU).
