Fruit juices and other fruit beverages not only taste good, they also contribute to healthy, balanced nutrition. They supply the body with liquids and essential nutrients, which are fully preserved thanks to the gentle processing methods used in the production of fruit and vegetable juices.
Recent research has shown that the health benefits of fruit juice derive from a natural combination of vitamins, minerals, trace elements and secondary plant substances. Some types of fruit earn especially high marks in this regard – such as acerola cherries (with their extraordinarily high vitamin C content), cranberries (rich in antioxidants) and blueberries (rich in iron, manganese, vitamin K and fibre).

 

It is important to drink lots of liquids – experts recommend at least 2.5 litres per day in order to provide optimum support for human physiological processes. Blends of mineral water and fruit juice are ideal, as they supply the body with minerals and carbohydrates. A combination of mineral water and apple, grape or blackcurrant juice contains carbohydrates, minerals and trace elements – which make it the perfect sport beverage.

“5 A Day” –
fruit juice makes it easy.


Nutrition experts recommend consuming about 400 grams of
vegetables and 250 to 300 grams of fruit per day as part
of the international “5 A Day” campaign (5 portions of fruit and
vegetables), which is promoted by the World Health Organization
(WHO). But that is often not quite as simple as it sounds. Studies
have shown that many people do not (or cannot) reach this target.
Thus nutritionists recommend substituting a glass of fruit juice for
one portion. In this way, fruit and vegetable juices make it easier
for people to follow the daily nutrition recommendation – thanks
not at least of all to their strong convenience factor.
