Big helps small - sustainable!

We handle our resources with the greatest possible care. Starting with our most important fruit, the orange, we are pioneering.

Together with the non-profit organization Solidaridad, Eckes-Granini is supporting a smallholder project to make orange cultivation in Brazil more sustainable. A project that is particularly important to us in relation to our most important fruit.

Because, as Eckes-Granini Group, we are not only aware of our responsibility to our consumers, but also handle our resources with the greatest possible care.

Starting with our most important fruit, the orange, we are pioneering: According to the slogan "smallholders, big opportunities", we support almost 500 small-scale orange farmers in the application of more sustainable agricultural practices. The project is being implemented locally by the international non-profit organization Solidaridad.
Help is given where it is needed the most: In the so-called "Citrus Belt", the region around the cities São Paulo and Minas Gerais, where almost 75 percent of Brazilian oranges are grown. „ As a company, we have committed ourselves to making a visible contribution to making fruit and vegetable cultivation more sustainable worldwide” explains Thomas Hinderer, CEO of the Eckes-Granini Group. „In an effort to protect natural resources, this also includes maintaining the competitiveness of the small, family-run orange plantations in Brazil and improving the living conditions for small farmers.“
