Eckes-Granini becomes a climate neutral company

The Eckes-Granini Group with all its subsidiaries will operate climate neutral throughout Europe as of January 1, 2021.

Starting from 1 January 2021, Eckes-Granini will be climate neutral and will contribute to protect 17,872 hectares of forest in the Amazon area annually.

As a leading European juice producer, we want to send a clear signal with regard to the fight against climate change. Starting from January 1, 2021 the Eckes-Granini Group and all its subsidiaries will operate climate neutral throughout Europe. We have been reducing our carbon footprint for years, through the modernization of facilities, the purchase of green electricity and the reduction of fuel consumption in the logistics fleet. Now we are going one step further by becoming a ‘Climate Neutral Company’ in cooperation with ClimatePartner, a solution provider of climate action for companies.

Carbon offset project protects Brazilian primeval forest

We will offset 43,000 tons carbon emissions of our direct business activities per year with the support of a carbon offset project conducted by ClimatePartner in Portel, Brazil. Eckes-Granini contributes to the preservation of 17,872 hectares of primeval forest in the Amazon area every year. Furthermore, the project provides alternative sources of income and education for the residents of Portel.
