Good things grow

How Eckes-Granini approaches sustainability.

At Eckes-Granini, sustainability is part of how we think, act and make decisions across our business. From sourcing fruits and managing production sites to developing products and supporting our people, we work to address sustainability topics that are relevant to our business and stakeholders.

For us, “Good Things Grow” reflects a simple idea: meaningful progress takes time, commitment and collaboration. Explore the topics, priorities and initiatives that shape our sustainability approach.

Our Sustainability Framework

Good things grow when sustainability is considered across the entire value chain.

Sustainability covers a broad range of environmental, social and governance topics. To focus our efforts and provide a clear framework for action, our sustainability strategy is built around four dimensions: Procurement, Production, Product and People.

Together, these four dimensions reflect key parts of our value chain and organisation. They provide the framework for our sustainability activities across Eckes-Granini and help us address sustainability topics that are most relevant to our business and stakeholders.

Supported by governance structures, policies and clear responsibilities, this framework helps translate priorities into action.

Responsible Sourcing

Good things grow when responsibility starts at the source.

Fruits and vegetables are at the heart of our business. Responsible sourcing is therefore a key element of our sustainability strategy. Our ambition is to source 100% of our fruits and vegetables in accordance with recognised sustainability standards by 2030. By increasing the share of fruits and vegetables sourced in line with these standards, we aim to support environmental and social improvements across our value chain.

Our Sustainable Sourcing Policy sets out the standards and requirements that guide our responsible sourcing approach. As a member of the Sustainable Juice Covenant (SJC), our progress towards this ambition is regularly reviewed by independent third parties, currently PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"Responsible sourcing means turning sustainability commitments into everyday procurement practice. It goes beyond certifications – it means understanding how our raw materials are produced, identifying environmental and social risks, and, most importantly, working closely with our suppliers and partners to drive continuous improvement across our supply chain."

Improving Operations, Reducing Emissions

Good things grow when we reduce emissions from our operations.

We are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our production sites and offices. This includes improving energy efficiency, investing in on-site energy solutions and continuously reviewing how energy is sourced and used across our operations. Together, these efforts support our long-term approach to reducing emissions while continuously improving our operations.

From solar energy projects at our Danish site in Ringe to integrated energy and efficiency measures at our Finish factory in Turku, we continue to explore different ways to reduce emissions while improving our operations.

Riding together for children with critical illnesses and their families

Good things grow when we join forces for a good cause.

Some of the most meaningful stories begin with a simple idea. In 2002, eleven colleagues from Rynkeby Foods set off on a cycling trip to Paris and ended up creating something much bigger. Today, Team Rynkeby brings together thousands of people across Europe who dedicate their time, energy and commitment to supporting children with critical illnesses and their families. More than €100 million has been raised since the initiative began.

Since 2016, Eckes-Granini has proudly stood behind this unique initiative as its main sponsor.

I've joined Team Rynkeby five times, and I keep coming back for the people, the challenge, and the cause. I've made new friendships across the company, pushed myself further than I thought I could, and helped support children with critical illnesses.
