Market position as unrivalled market leader strengthened in eight countries
The Eckes-Granini Group once again demonstrated its ability to meet customer needs and wishes with numerous product innovations in the 2019 Business Year. Key figures include 921 million Euro in sales revenue, volume sales of 853 million litres and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounting to EUR 84.3 million (before one-time effects of discontinued business operations) impressively confirm this. This means that the Group has once again maintained its leading position as the largest and most successful brand producer in the Western European fruit beverage market.
“We have consolidated our market position as the undisputed Number 1 in now eight countries. We are structurally better positioned than ever before and, thanks to the tireless dedication of our employees, we have achieved a very solid and good result”, emphasizes CEO Thomas Hinderer. This is particularly evident in the positive earnings before interest and taxes: EBIT was increased by EUR 12.3 million or 17 percent.
At the same time, this result is also the foundation on which the company is now building in the crisis: The Group managed to respond quickly to the new conditions and requirements posed by the corona crisis. Despite the radical change in demand in the first quarter of 2020, Eckes-Granini reliably supplied retailers with fruit juices and nectars, smoothies and lemonades on a daily basis.
