Already saving CO2 today?

Eckes-Granini opts for the environmentally friendly rail / liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks in its logistics fleet.

"We bring people the best of fruit" - that is Eckes-Granini's claim. However, it is a long way to the finished juice on the supermarket shelf. Eckes-Granini is continuously working on new solutions and ideas to further reduce its carbon footprint.

Vitamins by rail

In cooperation with DB Cargo, Eckes-Granini Germany is now shifting part of its domestic transport operations to rail in combined transport. The shift will save more than 50,000 truck kilometers per year on the roads in Germany for long-distance connections and thus up to 40% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Improving the carbon footprint with LNG trucks

Nevertheless, road transport by truck cannot be completely avoided, especially on the first and last kilometers. That is why Eckes-Granini Germany has decided to integrate the first LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) trucks into its logistics fleet. By using gas as a fuel, additional savings of about 20% in CO2 emissions and about 60% in nitrogen oxides can be achieved. Eckes-Granini Germany will continue to work on gradually optimizing all transport routes along the value chain in order to further reduce CO2 emissions in the logistics fleet.
