Team Rynkeby is riding for records

After two years, the Team Rynkeby Tour has Paris as its destination again. Cyclists from all over Europe raise money for critically ill children. This year’s tour might be a very special one.

Instead of cycling to Paris for their classic destination, the teams of Team Rynkeby have been raising money for critically ill children with events in their home countries for the past two years due to the pandemic. In 2022, the destination is Paris again. For the first time, teams from Belgium and Switzerland are taking part and more German groups will be part of the tour. That makes a total of 2,024 riders from 62 teams and nine countries, with a support crew of 538 people – that's more than ever before.

Record-breaking help for sick children

With 1,614, the number of sponsors also reached a new high. "This gives us reasonable hope that this year we will be able to raise more money for seriously ill children than ever before," says Jørgen HK Jepsen, General Manager of the Team Rynkeby Foundation. The previous record was set in 2019 and amounted to more than 10 million Euros.

The tour will end with an equally record-breaking event this year: almost 6,000 people will turn an entire district of Paris Team Rynkeby's iconic yellow colour. Many of the tour's golden moments will be shown on a big screen and the event will be streamed live on the internet. “We made sure to arrange a very special event for the participants' arrival in Paris, to let them all know that their work is incredible,” says Jørgen HK Jepsen.

Eckes-Granini wishes all participants a lot of fun and safe cycling.
